The Espiritu Santo Island tour from La Paz is the most requested experience we run. The island is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a protected natural area with no hotels, restaurants or public docks — the only way to see it is by boat.
Our Espiritu Santo Island day trip leaves from the La Paz waterfront and works its way around the island's bays, reefs and white-sand beaches, with time in the water and time to relax. Depending on the season and current regulations, the day includes snorkeling with or observing the resident sea lion colony.
We operate boats that meet Mexican Harbor Master requirements, with captains and guides who know every bay on the route. Sea conditions are checked before every departure to set the safest route of the day.
When environmental rules allow it, the tour includes snorkeling beside the island's sea lion colony. During breeding season the activity switches to viewing from the boat plus reef snorkeling nearby.
White-sand beaches and turquoise water inside the protected area, with free time to swim, walk and rest.
The route includes a short photo stop by Balandra's famous mushroom-shaped rock, subject to sea conditions and current area capacity rules.
Boarding, safety briefing and cruise across La Paz bay toward Espiritu Santo Island.
Short photo stop at La Paz's most photographed natural landmark, subject to sea conditions.
Snorkeling beside the sea lion colony when the season and regulations allow; during breeding season, reef snorkeling plus wildlife viewing from the boat.
Beach stop on the island and fresh food prepared by the crew: ceviche, fruit and snacks, with drinks.
Cruise back to the dock along the coastline.

About 6 hours. The boat leaves La Paz at 11:00 a.m. and returns to the dock around 5:00 p.m.

Boat transport with safety equipment, life jackets, complete snorkeling gear, certified bilingual guides, fresh food (ceviche, fruit and snacks) and drinks throughout the day.
No. The colony lives on the island year-round, but in-water interaction depends on the season and current environmental rules. During breeding season the authority usually restricts it and we switch to viewing from the boat plus reef snorkeling.
The itinerary includes a short photo stop by Balandra and its mushroom rock, subject to sea conditions. It is a scenic stop, not a full beach day.
The island can be visited year-round. October to May brings milder weather and calmer seas; June to September brings warmer water and usually excellent underwater visibility.
